Meet Erika

Erika Pierce, M.S., SLP-CCC, CLC

Erika graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders from University of Redlands in California in 2013. She attended Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and obtained her Master in Speech Pathology in 2015. While at Gallaudet, a Deaf university, Erika received specialized training in supporting the deaf and hard-of-hearing population and aural re/habilitation. After graduation, she focused on pediatric therapy, becoming certified in Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), The Lidcombe Program for stuttering, and the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol. Erika also enjoys working in the area of infant and child feeding/swallowing disorders and is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Additionally, she has experience working with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Autism Spectrum diagnostic teams. Other areas of experience include: cleft lip/palate, articulation/phonological delays, receptive and expressive language delays, and Trisomy 21. Erika is committed to finding the right communication and learning style for each child and family and is happy to work with AAC and ASL communicators. 

Erika loves to travel and experience places with different cultures, languages, and food. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, hiking, running and cross-country skiing. As the owner of Alpenglow Therapy, she enjoys using the outdoors to teach play, communication, speech, and language skills.
